Lisha at Home (Video & Pictures)

To some, her signing might seem simple—but what you see barely scratches the surface of her vocabulary. Without sign language, communication often breaks down into pointing, guessing, and growing frustration on both sides. Her ability to sign gives her a voice. Without it, we’d all be lost.

What’s most beautiful is that Lisha’s parents and siblings have learned to sign, not out of obligation, but out of love—a quiet devotion that says, you belong here. When a child has full access to language, they don’t just survive—they find their place in the world.

My little buddy. My favorite hat thief. The child who changed my life in ways only God could have planned. It was no accident that He brought us together at Buddy Break — I know in my heart that God handpicked you for me, and me for you.

You’ve taught me so much just by being boldly and unapologetically yourself. I didn’t know what I was walking into the day we met, but now I can’t imagine what my life would be like without you in it.

Your smile lights up my day, and I thank God every day for putting you in it.
I’ll always be in your corner. I'll never give up on you.
